L & S Electric Inc. Maintenance Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Summary: The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot and make repairs to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems following electrical codes and OHSA Standards. Essential Functions: Electrical Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment. Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment. Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and replace damaged or broken wires and cables using hand tools. Test malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment. Replace faulty electrical components of machines. Mechanical Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. Basic welding is a plus. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular preventative maintenance on hoists/cranes, shop equipment and shop facilities. Be able to perform variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performance of duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. All other duties as assigned by manager. Requirements HS diploma or GED OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training Awareness or certified in NFPA 70E 4+ years experience in industrial maintenance environment Knowledge of OSHA plus State codes and regulations as they relate to job. Valid drivers license. Authorized to work for any employer in U.S. Fluent in English. Own personal hand tools as required for position Personal Qualities Ability to effectively communicate to internal staff Detail orientated on multi-tasked projects Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Organized Mechanical and technical aptitudes Ability to be flexible and meet changing requirements Physical/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, crouching and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
